Privacy Policy

Fork It (“the app”) helps you choose what to cook. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
Who we are
The app is operated by Clayton MacPhee. For privacy questions, contact clayton.macphee@gmail.com.
What we collect

Analytics
We use PostHog (PostHog Inc., US Cloud) for product analytics. This helps us understand how people use Fork It—for example, which screens they visit, which buttons they tap, and where they drop off in the meal-picking flow.
PostHog may receive:
- Event names (e.g. protein selected, meal chosen)
- Screen or page views
- Device type, operating system, app version, screen size, language, and timezone
- A random anonymous identifier and session ID (not linked to your account unless you sign in and we explicitly identify you)
We do not use PostHog for advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling data. Analytics data is stored on PostHog’s US servers. For more information, see PostHog’s privacy policy.
What we do not collect
- Precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone data
- Payment or financial information
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking for ads
How data is stored
- Account and favourites are stored in our PostgreSQL database, hosted on infrastructure we control.
- On your device, sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain (via Expo Secure Store).
- Meal recipes and content are bundled in the app; they are not uploaded.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app:
- Railway — hosts our API and database
- PostHog — product analytics (usage events, as described above)
These providers process data on our behalf to operate and improve the service.
Your choices
- Use without an account: You can use the full meal-picking flow without signing in.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account permanently removes your account and favourites from our servers.
Security
We use HTTPS for API communication and industry-standard password hashing.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
